I’m reading The Junior Officers’ Reading Club, a light account of a scholarly guy's path to becoming a soldier in the British army and working in Iraq and Afghanistan. It’s good to have a reality check and realize that for all that lives of Haitians are difficult, for all that UN mission here is a ubiquitous part of the scenery, things are a far cry from the madness of war.
